52 Local delivers authentic, seasonal produce grown locally from heritage seeds propagated on site. 52 Local also grow native trees and produce honey. All produce is grown on sacred land at the Ngaire George Sustainability Centre at Mokai using organic, sustainable practices.
The number 52 has two meanings. 52 refers to the number of weeks in a year, which speaks to the seasonal and local attributes of the brand’s offering. And 52 refers to the year 1952 when 52 Local’s parent brand founded a new enterprise to leverage its heritage, land holdings and expertise.
For the brand identity, the numbers 5 and 2 have been crafted to create perfect mirror forms, creating the shape of a tree in the negative space, expressing a sense of enfolding hands holdings something precious, implying growth and making a subtle reference to honeycomb.
