Turkish Airways brand takes flight by using Periscope app

Live streaming is all the rage right now. Brands are jumping in to use Periscope or Meerkat to create a live portal with their fans.

A quick apology for the voice over and cheesy backing track in the following video, but it represents a first for an airline, as Turkish Airlines use live streaming app Periscope, before, during and after a flight.

Using Periscope, Turkish Airlines streamed footage from flight preparations, through to having a look at crew quarters and chatting to the pilots.

5,000 new followers and almost 300,000 likes – not too shabby.

How are other brands using Periscope?
Redbull live streamed some of their Red Bull “Guest House” events at Miami Music Week
Mountain Dew used Periscope to engage and reward Twitter followers by sending free merchandise to followers who interacted with the stream.
Adidas gave fans front row seats to watch football star James Rodriguez sign his contact extension with the brand.
